Mechanism through which a customer’s tier configuration is saved through a snapshot so that further changes made by merchants in VIP rules does not block customer benefits.
This means that even if the merchant changes the VIP tier rules later, the customer continues to operate under the rules set at the time they entered the tier—until certain events such as reassessment or tier upgrade occur.
For example, Mr. A moves from Base to Silver Tier at $500 spent; a snapshot of the current tier configuration is taken and locked for Mr. A. This includes:
- Tier name
- Entry requirement (spend threshold)
- Entry reward (one-time benefits)
- Ongoing privileges/perks
- Reassessment cycle (e.g., 90 days)
- Tier retention threshold (minimum spend to keep the tier)
Note: This snapshot is not visible for the merchant, this is purely for the understanding of tier locking system under inback’s VIP tier feature
